 Best clubs for the moneyMay 20, 2010

I'm a poor golfer, and don't play often enough to get my score any better. And playing with standard clubs, I finished each game with a sore back. I looked at a few local golf shops, but custom clubs were way too expensive for me. When I found the Tigershark set on Amazon, it was really a no brainer. The cost was less than most of the standard sets I'd seen, and they got shipped right to my door! I've played a half-dozen times since getting them and, no, my score hasn't improved. I don't think clubs alone can do that for me. But I come away from each round feeling just fine, no bacjk pain at all, which makes the game so much more enjoyable for me. For anyone over 6' 2" playing with standard clubs, I highly recommend you try the longer +1 clubs from Tigershark. Your game might not care, but your back will -- and since you can't set your back aside for a week, so do what you can to keep it happy.

As a 6'4" man, I was pleased to find off the shelf +1 clubs for a reasonable price. Found 2 other sets on Amazon, but decided I liked the look of this set, and the reviews lined up with my golf experience and physical stature.
The clubs arrived super fast, but they do not look like the picture. The set I received does match the set shown on the manufacturer's website: ([...]) and has a red (not orange) and black theme. I was digging the orange look, so I dock one star. I think the bag is nearly the same in design, just red instead of orange. The clubs appear to be made of reasonably good quality considering the price. A couple of practice swings on my carpet revealed the sweet consistency that the extra inch gives a tall man's swing, so I'm optimistic to keep my back intact, and have a more fruitful day at the range and subsequent golf course outing.
I will update this review with my experience on the driving range and course after I try them out.

Good basic clubs. I searched a lot of spots for a starter set that is plus one. I am over six feet tall and standard clubs would not do. The tiger sharks are not sexy but they do the trick for beginners. The only reason i gave a 4 out of 5 is the bag is pretty cheesy. But for the price I cannot complain too much.. It has straps but i would not take it on my back for 18. I have a click 3.0 push cart that works great.

I received the set of clubs in a couple of days. The quality was above what I expected for the price I paid($199). I was disappointed at first because the 9 iron was missing. When I called Tigershark, on the number from their website, I explained the problem and they responded magnificently. I received the missing club the next week. The customer service was quick and apologetic. I gave 4 stars because the missing component. You can't overlook that. But it would have been 3 or less without the great service.

Excellent clubs for the money. Each club feels balanced and weighted just right. The clubs appear to be of high quality materials and I have had no issues after several full rounds and trips to the driving range. The putter is decent; I like the flared-head, which is similar in design to my friend's $160 putter. The driver is great...large, light, and well balanced. I am nearly 6'5" so I certainly appreciate the extra inch on the set. The bag is very nice indeed. Lots of separate pockets for tees, balls, wallets, phones, etc. The zippers zip smoothly and haven't snagged. I even like the bag's color scheme. I would easily pay $100 or more for the bag. This is the first set of clubs I've purchased and I'm pretty frugal; I researched sets for several weeks before deciding on this package and am very pleased with my purchase. Finally, for whatever it's worth, I immediately took 10 strokes off my game after switching to this set from rentals, although I had only played 15 times or so previously.
